Perfect Binding/Collating Lead Operator

Description:

The Perfect Binding/Collating Lead Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of the Perfect Binder, the collator and the 3 knife trimmer. Some of the essential job duties are to review the job tickets and prioritize work, assure quality of product while the machine is in operation which includes lead responsibilites for employees working on the collating line, the perfect binding and trimming areas. Some forklift operations and pump lifts may be used to move product in a safe fashion. Maintain a clean work environment. Check box count and right amount of materials per box. Check that accurate information is on skid labels. Calculate quantities and /or produce box and skid labels on the computer. Participate in lean manufacturing intiatives of the company. Participates on a dialy basis as an active member of the deparment and in team meetings to analyze and improved processes and procedures the way we do things. The improved processes should reduce costs, improve the turn around time of Sentinel's products and services to create customer advocacy. Perform related work as required. The job may entail additional duties of operating other bindery equipment at times, depending on the skill set of job candidates and the work load of the company.
