St. Cloud, MN – Sentinel Printing Company, a high-quality book manufacturing and commercial printing operation has won another two International Association of Printing House Craftsmen (IAPHC) awards.  Announced in 2008, the 2007 winners were Sentinel’s printing of the calendar, The Girls of Epic, and the pattern book, Quilt Vision USA.  The Girls of Epic calendar took home the silver award and the Quilt Vision USA, the bronze.   The IAPHC gives out awards annually for superb printing and craftsmanship.  The International awards bestowed upon Sentinel compliment the three gold and one silver award won at the Central Minnesota Printing Professionals gallery.  The gold awards were for the soft cover book, Tales of Tralodren - The Beginning, hard cover books, Mems in Nanotechnology for Kids and The Common Thread of Women.  The silver award was for the brochure, Namura Pistons With An Attitude.  For more information on awards won by Sentinel Printing check out the awards web page.

With Upgrades, St. Cloud Printer Raises Cover Color Quality

St. Cloud, MN - Sentinel Printing Company, a high-quality book manufacturing and commercial printing operation located here, has installed a new Ryobi model 755five-color press.

The Ryobi press, which perfects four-colors-over-one, prints up to 23” x 29” and enables Sentinel to perform more operations inline, such as applying aqueous coating. The press also includes an IR drying system, which reduces curing time for inks and results in faster project turnaround.

The Ryobi press is also CIP4 compatible, which further reduces turnaround and waste by accepting press settings automatically from prepress. This functionality decreases labor and product used during makeready and similar pre-production operations

Upgrading to the Ryobi press enables the company to not only deliver product faster, but with higher-quality results, according to Sentinel Printing Company President Chuck Manthey.
