Creating Postscript Files in PageMaker

Select the Document tab.
In the Copies box, type 1.
In the Pages area, select the range of pages you want to include
in the PostScript File.
Select the Include Blank Pages check box.
Clear all other check boxes.
From the Page Sequence list select All.
From the Registration list select Centered.
From the Offset box type 20pt.
From the Tiling list, select Off.
Select the Bleed box, type in the amount of bleed you want ( A .125"
bleed should be enough for all jobs).
Select the Page Setup options button.
The Format For list should say Whatever PostScript Printer You
Choose to Use With Our PPD. (postscript printer driver)
From the Paper list, select Letter.
In the Orientation area, select Portrait, even if your document
is Landscape orientation.
In the Scale box, type 100.
From the Main list select PostScript Options.
In the Options dialog box, clear all the check boxes.
Choose OK.
Select the Setup tab.
From the Printer Description list select the Distiller CMYK.
From the Paper Size list, select Custom.
In the Paper Width box, type the page width, including bleeds plus 1 1/4".
After Paper Height should be Automatic.
From the Page Positioning list, select Left Edge. (What you
selected for paper width should automatically center the pages.)
The Paper Offset and Page Gap boxes should be set at "0".
Make sure the Fit in Print Area box is NOT checked.
For Orientation select Portrait.
Select the Output tab.
From the Print Colors list, select Composite Color.
From the Halftoning list, select Conventional.
Choose 2400 dpi for the Resolution.
Choose 150 lpi in the Frequency box.
Select the Options tab.
Clear the Quark PostScript Error Handler check box.
Select None for Page Flip.
Clear the Negative Print check box.
From the Output list select Normal.
Select Binary for the Data Format.
From the OPI list, select Include Images.
Clear the Overprint EPS Black check box.
Select the Full Resolution TIFF Output check box.
Choose Print.
(Quark 5.0 only)
Select the Bleed tab, Symmetric and type in the amount
of bleed you want (.125" should be enough for all jobs).
Select the OPI tab, deactivate OPI, but make sure Include Images
is checked.
Choose Print.
(Mac only)
Select the Printer options button.
From the Destination list, select Save As File.
From the Format list, select PostScript Job.
Select the Level 1 Compatible option button.
Select the ASCII option button.
From the Font Inclusion list, select ALL.
Choose Save.
Select the location which you want the file to be saved.
In the Create File box, type a file name.
Choose Save.
