Creating Postscript Files in Pagemaker

6.5/7.0 Adobe PageMaker for Mac/PC

Select Print from the File menu.
From the PPD list, select Distiller CMYK.
(See instructions on loading.)
Clear the Collate, Reverse, Proof and Reader's Spreads check boxes.
From the Print list choose Both.
Clear the Ignore “Non-Printing” setting, Print Blank Pages and Book options check boxes.
In the Orientation area, select the Portrait icon.
Choose the Paper button.
From the Size list, select Letter.
(Since PageMaker receives information about the document’s page size from the Document Setup dialog box, it doesn’t matter what paper size you select when you create the PostScript file when following these instructions.)
From the Source list, select Cassette.
Clear the Center Page in Print Area check box.
From the Tiling list, select None.
In the Scale area, select 100% option button.
Select the Color button.
Select Composite check box for all jobs.
Choose Frequency 150 LPI
(We have the ability to change LPI to whatever you prefer.)
Clear the Preserve EPS Color check box.
Choose the Optimized Screen for 2400 dpi.
Choose Options button.
Check the Write to PostScript to File check box.
Check the For Prepress check box.
Make sure Page Independence is checked.
Clear the Extra Image Bleed and Launch Post-Processor check boxes.
Select Normal to embed images, in Send Image Data list.
Choose Send Binary Image Data from the Data Encoding list.
Select the PostScript and Truetype in the Download Fonts list.
Select the Save As button.
Name your PostScript File.
(The PostScript File will have .sep after the name.)
Select Save button.
